Andrew and Robert Buchanan write to Owen Cotes, Attorney General of KY, requesting his assistance in collecting a claim on the estate of Churchill Samuel. A handwritten copy of a letter from Samuel to the Buchanans dated 14 April, 1841, requesting a loan of $2,000, is on the reverse.
